Eat The Rainbow

When you hear the term eat the rainbow unfortunately, nutritionist aren't talking about skittles. Although, they are delicious they don't have all the nutrients that come from nature's rainbow. When you eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables, you are getting essential vitamins and minerals that play a vital role in your health. Phytonutrients are powerful compounds, found in plant foods, such as fruit, vegetables, and whole grain products.


Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, have the perfect balance of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water. Nature's pharmacy is found in the variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. These nutrients have been proven to reduce cancer, heart disease, strokes, Alzheimer's and other diseases. They also help prevent damage to cells due to the antioxidants found in them. No supplement can trump nature's pharmacy.


  • Purple & blue - purple carrots, purple kale, purple cabbage, black grapes, blue berries, black berries and plums

  • Orange & yellow - yellow zucchini, orange and yellow carrots, apricots and peaches, pineapple and pumpkin

  • Red& pink - beets, tomatoes, cherries, pink dragon fruit, red grapes, and grapefruit

  • Green - Spinach, asparagus, green beans, okra, kale, and green peppers

  • White - bean sprouts, celery, garlic, bananas, and mushrooms.
